The Rotary Club of Collingwood Board have a diverse range of experiences and professional careers with connections to the local community.
dan tang, PRESIDENT 2017-18
Dan has been a member of the Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ) since 2012. He joined the Rotary Club of Collingwood in 2014 with the aim of empowering individuals while making sustainable and lasting impacts within the community.
Dan has 10 years experience within the banking and finance industry, the public service, and has volunteered at Health Australia Tanzania (HAT) Inc. and the Victorian AIDS Council (VAC).
Dan seeks to build capability in others through direct engagement with people in need. He is an avid supporter of building partnerships and collaborating with the individuals and organisations. He has a passion for youth and creative arts.
bruce shaw, secretary 2017-18
Bruce is practising Barrister admitted to the Supreme Court of Queensland since 1983. He has been a member of the Rotary of Collingwood for more than 20 years and attributes his years of service to remaining true to the generosity of spirit and rationality, and by demonstrating patience and tolerance of all.
Bruce has a keen interest in history, particularly engineering and railway history, music and the performing arts, travel and photography.
Bruce continues to mentor younger people and believes this keeps him young and independent in attitude, but without trying to imitate young people. He hopes to work with the local communities both in the Collingwood and surrounding areas, and abroad.
LEENA AMIN, PUBLIC IMAGE 2017-18
Leena is a digital marketing and communications professional. She has a passion to inspire and teach people to follow their truth and that finding their passion will lead to happier lives. Leena believes that making a difference is to lead by example and build authentic, sincere and positive connections with people.
Leena volunteered at Eating Disorders Victoria for five years providing counselling support and advice to those who are concerned about eating disorders.
Leena has an interest in child and youth practical stress management, achieving mindfulness through meditation, and providing advice to youth to be job ready.
Dr. LING LEE
Ling is a research professional and optometrist. She completed her PhD in Optometry and Vision Science at UNSW in 2016. Ling has a passion for implementing research outcomes that contributes to and advocates for equitable health care.
Through her work Ling has developed research projects with locals and provided eye care to Aboriginal communities in Australia and rural areas abroad in Nepal, China and India. Ling also has a passion for working with children from disadvantaged backgrounds to develop their confidence in learning.
Over the next 12 months, Ling hopes to connect with the local Collingwood community and develop new local projects.
cindy chan
Cindy is a digital marketing professional, specialising in online advertising and project delivery. She believes in facilitating authentic connections within the community. After working in the digital space for many years Cindy sees the impact of increased technology use leading to higher levels of engagement with machines than on a personal level.
Cindy has volunteered for various organisations including the Australian Red Cross and Salvation Army providing fundraising support.
Cindy aspires to connect and contribute her time into positive outcomes both through Rotary and her professional work. She current has a passion for nutrition and living a happy and holistic lifestyle.
